One of her most famous songs “Jolene” talks about a woman with flaming locks of auburn hair. The words of the song beg for Jolene not to steal her man just because she can. While it’s hard to imagine how there can be any competition for the Queen of Country, there is a good story behind the lyrics.

She said it was inspired by a bank teller who had a huge crush on her husband. Dolly didn’t say if it became a big issue but it was a running joke between the couple. She joked that he spent a whole lot of time in the bank and they didn’t even have that much money.
