With movies such as “The Hunger Games,” “X-Men” and “Red Sparrow” associated with her name, Jennifer Lawrence has been one of the most successful actresses. This August 15, she turns 28 and has already made a profound impact on her audiences. She is the third youngest actor to be nominated for the Academy Awards. With an Oscar already in her name, we are sure; she still has a long way to go.
Let us take a look at some of the things; we bet, you did not know about Jennifer Lawrence!
Jennifer Lawrence Was a Tomboy in School
Contrary to her current appearance, Jennifer Lawrence was quite a tomboy during her childhood. Her general body language was a little rough and tough, so much so that she was not allowed to play with the other girls in her preschool. She kept herself engaged in quite a few sports during her growing years.

Starting from hockey to softball and basketball, she was a big sports fanatic in her high school days. Her father was also a basketball coach, and Lawrence was a part of the boys’ team.
She Knew She Was Going to be Famous
The 28-year-old actress had significant confidence in herself and her abilities. From her childhood, she dreamt of being famous, like every little girl. However, she took it farther than that. She pretty much knew that she would be a public personality someday.

She was quoted as saying, “I always knew…that I was going to be famous. I honest to God don’t know how else to describe it. I used to lie in bed and wonder, ‘Am I going to be a local TV person? Am I going to a motivational speaker?”
She Was Discovered at the Age Of 14
Many people start off at young ages in weird situations. Jennifer Lawrence’s beginning was equally strange.

At a tender age of 14, she was out on the streets of New York. Here, she met a completely random stranger who approached her to take a picture of her and get her mother’s phone number. The very next day, a call went out to her mother to get Lawrence to do a screen test. This is how the 14-year-old started off on her journey!
She Comes With No Training in Acting
Most people get into the acting industry by first getting trained in some prestigious acting school. However, the “Hunger Games” star has received no formal training in acting. To add to that, she has never been professionally involved in theatre work as well.

Her approach to her art is very different. She believes in the concept of ‘imagination’ to do well in this field. The solely essential requirement for a good actor is to have a good imagination. This is what Jennifer believes in and relies on.
Her Parents Never Wanted Her to Be an Actor
Jennifer Lawrence’s parents were against the idea of her getting into the acting profession. Like most protective parents, they wanted her to do something stable and less hectic. However, it was her determination that took her through and convinced them otherwise.

When they visited her on the set, they had realized how happy and content she was practicing the art of acting. This is when they changed their minds and decided to let her continue to pursue her dreams. The acting was like therapy for her, and they could see that.
She Didn’t Get Baffled by Early Failures
Like most new actors, Lawrence did spend many struggling moments in the industry itself. Initially, she had auditioned for some different roles and movies to get her to hold in the industry. However, as luck would have it, she was reasonably unsuccessful there.

She auditioned for the role of Bella Swan in “Twilight” and Jules in “Superbad.” However, they went to then-unknown actresses Kristen Stewart, and Emma Stone and Jennifer had to wait for some more time before she found success. Fortunately enough, she did not get pressurized by the failures and kept trying her hand at acting and different roles.
Third Youngest Academy Award Nominee
Jennifer Lawrence started breaking records at quite an early age. Her role in “Winter’s Bone” was well acclaimed and appreciated by the critics that she even got an Academy Award nomination for actress in a lead role, making her the third youngest ever in the category.

She did work a lot for this movie. To make it look real, she had lived for a while with the Ozarks and learned how to fight, skin squirrels and the likes. She picked up several of these skills to prepare for her role.
Jennifer’s Fan Girl Moment
Jennifer has always been a big fan of John Stamos. When she first met him, she was the most excited and starstruck fangirl. She had kept calling him by the name of ‘Uncle Jesse.’ This threw a reference to his popular sitcom called “Full House.”

Her excitement was so out of control that John Stamos asked her if she was consuming shrooms. After all, celebrities also have their fangirl or fanboy moments!
She Does Tend to Swear a Lot!
The beautiful Jennifer Lawrence comes with a reputation for swearing quite a lot! On all her movie sets, she does use a specific language which stands out in the crew. In fact, on the set of “Hunger Games,” there was a swear jar to capture moments when people swore there.

Lawrence’s contribution to the swear jar was almost half of the whole jar. As reported by the director Gary Ross, Lawrence ‘swears like a sailor’. She does have that reputation across all her movies and projects.
Jennifer is Quite the Aggressive Lady
The role of Katniss Everdeen was one of her most significant accomplishments in her acting career. To prepare for the role, she was training with an Olympic archer. In that situation, one day, she had seen some men working on her home patio with bows and arrows.

Being her aggressive self, she thought that they were burglars and decided to defend herself and almost shot those people. She was saved at the last moment and realized her error though. Right from her childhood, she has been very agile an aggressive in her actions.
