If you want to know what a true female warriror looks like, take a look at Ronda Jean Rousey. She’s a 31-year-old American mixed martial artist, judoka and actress. Right now she holds the current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship. She is undefeated in MMA, having won nine out of her eleven fights.
Ronda Jean Rousey was born in Riverside, California on February 1, 1987. Her mother, a decorated judoka, was the first American to win a World Judo Championship in 1984. Rousey later became the first American woman to earn an Olympic medal in Judo at the Summer Olympics in Beijing in 2008.
Brye Anne Russillo
Brye Anne Russillo not only a blonde bombshell, but she’s also an up and coming MMA fighter. She was born in Long Island and stands 5 feet 9 inches tall. She fights in the 150lb weight class.
Russillo is starting to gather a following for her brand new fighting career. After taking a few cardio and kickboxing classes, Russillo realized that she had potential in the fighting industry. So she decided to try it out. And soon enough, her popularity started to boom and she was able to start making a dent in the competitive world of mixed martial arts.

Heather “The Heat” Hardy is a 36-year-old American professional boxer and mixed martial artist holding the WBC International Female Super Bantamweight title. She also is a trainer living and working in Brooklyn, New York.
While in school, Heather was involved in athletics, aspiring to become the first female pitcher for the New York Yankees. She went on to major in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York and graduated at the age of 22.
Paige Michelle Vanderford is known professionally as Paige VanZant. She’s a 26-year-old American mixed martial artist, author, and a former model. She is part of the flyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
She’s appeared on a few TV series, such as Dancing with the Stars and Chopped. She has also modeled for Nike and Columbia Sportswear. And as a kid, her father nicknamed her “12 Gauge” for her love of shooting and hunting.
Jinh Yu Frey
Jinh Yu Frey is a 33-year-old American-Asian mixed martial artist who competes in the Atomweight division. She is currently signed with Invicta FC and is the current World Atomweight Champion. Jinh Yu Frey first gained fame when she defeated Darla Harris in an MMA fight which went viral online.
Frey was born in Arkansas but she grew up in Texas. Her father is Korean, but he passed away when she was young. She earned her associate’s degree in Nuclear Medicine and then went on to get her Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences and finally she went her Masters in August of 2015.
The next female warrior is a former cheerleader turned MMA fighter.
Rachel Wray is an American MMA fighter and former cheerleader for the Kansas City Chiefs football team. Rachel fell in love with boxing after getting a free gym membership to Title Boxing Club in Kansas City.
She started doing boxing workouts twice a day. She then joined the HD MMA gym and started kickboxing. Rachel started competing in amateur MMA in 2012. In 2015 her record was 2 wins out of 4 bouts.
Ashley Yoder is 31 and an American mixed martial artist who competes in the Strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Prior to starting to fight professionally, Yoder worked as a lifeguard.
Ashley was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. During her high school years, Yoder was involved in cheerleading, dance and competed in track and field. She went to Indiana University and earned two Bachelor’s Degrees in Criminal Justice and African American Diaspora Studies.
The next female fighter was a Miss Teen International.
The 31-year-old is an Australian professional boxer and water skiing champion. She was on The Celebrity Apprentice Australia and is a former Miss Teen International 2004.
On 13 July 2012, she won the World Boxing Foundation women’s super featherweight title. Lauryn faced a tragedy ten years ago in March of 2008, when her father Peter, a 10-time Australian water-skiing champion, died when his speedboat flipped and crashed.
Mackenzie is a 25-year-old American professional mixed martial artist and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. She is a former world No. 1 ranked(Jiu-Jitsu) competitor, and at the moment is ranked 6th among the female divisions. She is an (wrestling) and (black belt) World Champion.
Dern was born in Arizona and began training at the age of 3. She’s the daughter of Wellington “Megaton” Dias, a highly adorned grappling competitor. She grew up traveling back and forth between Arizona and her father’s native Brazil.
The next beauty is from the cold and tough Ukraine.
Oléna “Lena” Serhíyivna Ovchýnnikova is a Ukrainian kickboxer and mixed martial artist. She competes in the featherweight division in kickboxing and the flyweight division in MMA.
She became a world champion in the professional fighting industry for the first time in 2009 when she won the ISKA Women’s World Super Bantamweight. Lena signed with Bellator MMA in 2016 and she was the first-ever female flyweight to appear on their campaign.
Montana de la Rosa is the youngest fighter on this list at the age of 23. She is an American professional Mixed Martial Arts Fighter who is currently competing for the Ultimate Fighting Championship in its Flyweight category.
She made her professional MMA debut in 2014 and has a record of 9 wins and 4 losses so far. Montana was born in Fort Worth, Texas.

Anastasia Yankova is a 27-year-old Russian mixed martial artist that competes in the Flyweight division of the Bellator MMA. Yankova was born in Moscow, Russia and started training in Kyokushin Karate from the age of six to fourteen.

She was inspired by a childhood fascination with “Xena: Warrior Princess,” a popular TV cartoon series. She transitioned into MMA after being a Muay Thai Champion. She still trains at the American Kickboxing Academy in Thailand.
Kristi Lopez is a 35-year-old American mixed martial artist who is well-known as “Loba.” She currently fights in the women’s flyweight division of Bellator MMA. As a professional fighter, she has a record of 2 wins and a loss.
Kristi has two college degrees in art and holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jutsu. Kristi was born on in Los Angeles, Calfornia.

Miesha Tate is a 32-year-old American MMA fighter. She’s primarily known for her grappling ability. She won the state championship during her senior year in 2005. She began her MMA career in 2007 and won the bantamweight championship of the Freestyle Cage Fighting promotion in 2009. Tate was even more recognized in 2011 when she won the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Championship.
She was born in Tacoma, Washington and was a real tomboy growing up. While attending Franklin Pierce High School, Tate chose amateur wrestling over basketball as a sport to participate in. She wrestled on the boys’ team as a freshman until graduation. “I got my **** kicked pretty hard for the first few weeks. I had no idea what I was doing, like a fish out of water,” Tate said about those years.

Gina Joy Carano is 36-year-old American former MMA fighter. But fighting isn’t her only profession. She has many talents. She’s also an actress, television personality, and fitness model. Her popularity has helped her gain the title of being the “Face of Women’s MMA” .

Carano was born in Dallas, Texas, daughter of professional football player Glenn Carano. She was raised by her mother after her parents divorced. Carano graduated from Trinity Christian High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. She led the girls’ basketball team to win the state title.
Rose is a 26-year-old American MMA fighter. She is signed to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where she competes in the women’s strawweight division and is currently the champion. As of November 7, 2018, she is #15 in the official UFC pound-for-pound rankings.
Namajunas was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 29, 1992, to Lithuanian parents. She’s mentioned that her father suffered from schizophrenia, which created complications in her childhood. She started practicing Taekwondo at the age of 5 and earned her junior black belt at age 9. After that, she went on to practice both karate and jiu-jitsu. While in high school, she started training in kickboxing and mixed martial arts.

In the years 2013/2014, she was ranked the #1 women’s atom weight fighter in the world. As of December 12, 2018, she is #8 in the strawweight rankings.

Waterson was born in Colorado Springs but raised in Aurora. And she’s of Thai descent. She began a modeling career in 2004 after graduating from Aurora Central High School. She then attended the University of Denver until she realized what she wanted to do. And that was to fight for a living.
Mariana Anastasia Juárez is from Santa Ursula, México. She made her professional boxing entrance at the age of 18 with a second-round knockout over Virginia Esparza in 1998 in México City. And guess what – she was paid all of $53 for this fight!
Juárez trains hard and fights hard, but she says she is trying to learn a different style of fighting to please US audiences. “Boxing is the most important thing for me, I love the feel of the gloves, the adrenaline rush, it is indescribable, and I want to stay in boxing”, said Juárez.
Irene “Robles” Aldana is a 30-year-old Mexican mixed martial artist who competes in the Bantamweight division, currently signed with the UFC.

As of December 11, 2018, she’s #10 in the official UFC bantamweight rankings. In UFC’s Fight, 228 on September 9, 2018, Irene broke her hand in her fight against Lucie Pudilova, causing a setback in her fighting career.
Cathilee Deborah “Cat” Zingano is 36. An American mixed martial artist who competes in the UFC became the first woman to win a UFC fight by technical knockout. And as of December 12, 2018, she is #5 in the official UFC bantamweight rankings.

Cat began her career at age 12 in combat sports with wrestling. She attended Fairview High School in Boulder, Colorado where she got involved with the wrestling team. She eventually became part of both the University of the Cumberland’s and MacMurray College women’s wrestling teams and became a 4-time All-American and National Champion.

Julie is now a retired MMA fighter but she was a third-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and specialized in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Kedzie was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Indiana when she was twelve so her mother could pursue a doctorate in neurobiology from Indiana University.
Her father enrolled her and her sister in Tae Kwon Do when Julie was five years old. She’s also well educated. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Indiana University. And she’s currently a student in the Masters of Fine Arts program at the University of Iowa.
Tecia is 29 years old and is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in the strawweight division of the UFC. As of December 12, 2018, she is #7 in the strawweight rankings. Torres has been in martial arts since the young age of 3.

She began in taekwondo and later received her black belt after twelve years practicing. She also has an amateur muay thai record of sixteen victories and four losses. Torres graduated at 20 years old with a Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Florida Atlantic University. She also earned her master’s degree in Criminology last year.

Erin is now 41, a retired MMA fighter. She was also a boxer and American Gladiator. She began kickboxing at the age of 18 and started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu soon after. Eric became a cast member on NBC’s TV series, American Gladiators. She was known on the show as Steel.
Tragically, Erin’s younger sister, Megan, was killed in a car accident on September 19, 2004. It was about three weeks before her title fight with Yvonne Reis.
