The Kardashians: A New Form of Hollywood Celebrity
Robert Kardashian was the Kardashian family patriarch, and he was a relatively low-key member of the memorable media spectacle that was the O.J. Simpson trial in 1995. It was only after his death in 2003 that his wife and their children went on to eventually become household names.

The Kardashians essentially created a new form of Hollywood celebrity. You could say they were the right family at the right time at the right place. They rode the wave of social media that was coming up strong in the early 2010s.
