Some contestants on Wheel of Fortune have made some pretty embarrassing mistakes. In a memorable moment, Renee Durette pronounced “Seven Swans A-Swimming” in her native southern accent and was disqualified. The internet was outraged when she lost $3,850. Even after a Twitter protest, the producers insisted that her answer broke the rules.

The disappointed contestant told ABC News, “That’s kind of how I speak, you know? Being from Florida… I asked for the ‘G,’ so I knew it was there.”
Fun fact: Did you know that before Sajak became the host of Wheel of Fortune, he was the weatherman for NBC’s Los Angeles affiliate? NBC initially said no when Griffin said that Sajak should become the host because he was just a local weatherman.
