Trekkies Love Lucy
Lucille Ball, from the hit show ‘I Love Lucy’ and head of ‘Star Trek’s’ parent company Desilu Productions, kept ‘Star Trek: TOS’ from being canceled in the first season. The series was eventually canceled in its third season, after 79 episodes. It later gained huge popularity in syndication.

Speaking of cancellation, to add insult to injury, Shatner’s first wife left him after ‘Star Trek: The Original Series’ was canceled. Ouch. Talk about kicking him when he’s down.
