Not an Easy Nut to Crack
The plan was to get Frank Sinatra to play one role and Mitzi Gaynor to play the other. After about a week, the plan changed. Sinatra was cut from the script after not showing up to a lunch meeting with Wilder. With the bad news came good news as well seeing as how shortly after, Billy would get a call from Marylin Monroe saying she would like to do another movie together.

Billy would go on to say; “Now that we got Tony Curtis and Marylin Monroe, we don’t need Sinatra; Jack Lemmon is a big enough star!”
