A scrap metal dealer purchased the egg not knowing what it was. His intentions were to melt the egg; however, he did some research on the egg. He learned of its history; a long-lost Faberge egg made for Russian Royalty in the 1800s. He contacted an expert who confirmed it’s worth and it was sold for an undisclosed amount.
