Marie’s Daughter Came Out
While Donny was busy spending his days recording his voice for Disney and other cartoon networks, Marie was dealing with some complexities in her family life. Her daughter, Jessica (17 at the time), came out and revealed to her mom that she’s gay. She was coming out despite the Mormon Church’s opposition to homosexuality. Marie cried, but for an unexpected reason.

Marie later spoke about this in an interview. She explained how she “cried when I found out when she told me she was gay when she was 17 because of the judgment [she would face].” She still accepted her daughter for who she was but was worried others would not. Sadly, her fears were confirmed.
