The Show Had Regular Guests
The Donny & Marie Show regularly brought on guests as part of the entertainment. While it was fun for viewers to see, it wasn’t always so great for Marie. And that’s an understatement. Unfortunately, older male guests would sometimes make unwanted advances on Marie. “I was very young, and I remember Groucho Marx pinching me,” she remembered. “He was a dirty old man.”

Sadly, Marie had to deal with a lot of abuse in her younger years. Behind that smile and angelic voice was a dark truth. In her book, Behind the Smile, the pop star claimed to have suffered abuse as a child, but still refuses to confront her abuser, only saying that it wasn’t a family member or a friend.
