Donny Was Having a Hard Time, Too
Both siblings were biting the bullet on their variety show. Donny faced high levels of pressure, too. The result was that he was constantly on edge and was easily able to erupt at the slightest frustration. One time, when Donny hit a wrong note when performing on stage, Marie poked him in the back with her thumb. He immediately ran off the stage in a rage.

Apparently, Donny’s pet peeve is when people write his name as Donnie instead of Donny. For some reason, spelling it wrong would really tick him off. As a joke, the backstage crew at the Flamingo had purposely spelled his name wrong on the gold star on his dressing room door. He couldn’t have been amused.
