Donny may have been a strong-willed young man, but his producers had something to say about it. More so, they wanted to DO something about it. Donny’s squeaky-clean image wasn’t what his record label wanted to give out to the world. He was struggling to make it as a solo artist, and being a Mormon wasn’t sexy.

The producers even tried to convince him to get involved in a drug scandal just to give him some “credibility.” In an interview with Inquisitr, Donny admitted that he even considered going along with the scheme, but he had common sense. “That would have earned me some street cred for five minutes, but then I would have become a laughingstock,” Osmond said.
