It became harder and harder to break the 10-seconds barrier in a 100-meter race, and recently many thought that it would even be impossible, but since it was broken by Jim Hines who completed it in 9.98 seconds, many more world records followed. The current world record for the first man to finish the race in 9.58 seconds is held by the 26-year-old famous Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, a record which he set in 2009. He is still young and has two or more chances to break his record. For now, he is the fastest runner s in the world.
